Jawatan Kosong Accounting Manager in Kuala Lumpur

GENERAL & DAILY RESPONSIBILITY

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting operations of SMH Rail Sdn. Bhd. and its Group of Companies, covering accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), general ledger (GL), payroll, cost accounting and fixed asset management.
  • Supervise, guide and develop the Accounts team — ensuring tasks are correctly delegated, completed accurately and delivered within deadlines.
  • Review and authorise payment vouchers, journal entries, vendor invoices, staff claims, petty cash reimbursements and inter-company charges prepared by the team, prior to posting in the Group's accounting system (FACT Accounting System).
  • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately, coded to the correct cost centre and project, and in compliance with the Group's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and accounting policies.
  • Maintain and enforce strong internal controls over all accounting processes, ensuring proper segregation of duties and adherence to the Group's Delegation of Authority (DOA).
  • Provide guidance and on-the-job coaching to the Accounts team on accounting standards (MFRS/MPERS), internal procedures and best practices.
  • Any ad hoc requests from the Head of Department.

WEEKLY RESPONSIBILITY

  • Monitor and review weekly Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) aging reports; escalate overdue payables and outstanding receivables to the Head of Department, and coordinate with the relevant teams for timely collection and settlement.
  • Review staff claims, advance settlements and outstanding accountabilities on a weekly basis, ensuring timely clearance of all employee-related financial obligations.
  • Attend project status meetings, management meetings and any other relevant cross-functional meetings, and provide financial updates and insights as required.

MONTHLY RESPONSIBILITY

  • Lead and manage the full month-end and quarter-end financial closing process for all entities within the SMH Rail Group — ensuring all entries are posted, accounts are reconciled and financial statements are finalised within the stipulated closing schedule.
  • Prepare and review the full set of monthly management accounts for SMH Rail Sdn. Bhd. and its Group of Companies, comprising the Profit & Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement and supporting schedules.
  • Review and approve the monthly bank reconciliation statements for all bank accounts across all Group entities, ensuring all reconciling items are identified and resolved.
  • Manage monthly revenue recognition for long-term manufacturing contracts and MRO service agreements in compliance with MPERS/MFRS ensuring milestone billings, variation orders and claims are properly recognized.
  • Review, authorise and post all month-end journal entries including accruals, prepayments, depreciation charges, inter-company eliminations, overhead allocations and project cost adjustments.
  • Prepare and present the monthly financial performance report — covering Budget vs. Actual analysis, key variance commentary and financial KPIs — to the Head of Department.
  • Prepare and maintain the monthly cash flow forecast and liquidity report; identify funding gaps, surplus positions and financing requirements, and communicate projections to the Head of Department.
  • Coordinate with the Cost Accountant on monthly standard cost runs, BOM cost updates, WIP reconciliation, overhead absorption and manufacturing variance analysis.
  • Review the Fixed Asset Manager's monthly depreciation schedules, CAPEX vs. Budget reports and Fixed Asset Register-to-General Ledger reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review the monthly consolidated financial report for the Group of Companies, including all required inter-company eliminations and consolidation adjustments.
  • Prepare monthly Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable status reports for review with the Head of Department

YEARLY RESPONSIBILITY

  • Lead and coordinate the annual financial year-end closing for all Group entities, ensuring all transactions are complete, accounts are fully reconciled and statutory financial statements are prepared accurately and submitted on time.
  • Lead the preparation of the annual audited financial statements for SMH Rail Sdn. Bhd. and each entity within the Group of Companies, in full compliance with MPERS/MFRS and the Companies Act 2016.
  • Act as the primary liaison with external auditors during the annual statutory audit; manage all audit engagements, prepare comprehensive audit schedules and reconciliations, respond to audit queries and sign off on management representation letters.
  • Coordinate and oversee the preparation of the annual corporate income tax returns for all Group entities in ensuring compliance with the Income Tax Act 1967, claiming all eligible deductions, capital allowances and incentives.
  • Lead the annual Group-wide budgeting and financial forecasting exercise, consolidating departmental submissions into a Group-level financial plan for review and approval by the Head of Department.
  • Prepare full set of accounts for SMH Rail Sdn. Bhd. and its Group of Companies, including all disclosure notes, related-party transaction schedules and segment reporting as required under MPERS/MFRS.
  • Review and update the Group's accounting policies, chart of accounts, SOPs and internal control framework annually to ensure alignment with current MPERS/MFRS requirements, statutory obligations and industry best practices.
  • Prepare the annual consolidated financial statements for the Group, ensuring accurate consolidation of all subsidiaries with proper inter-company eliminations, minority interest calculations and foreign currency translation adjustments.
  • Coordinate the annual transfer pricing review and documentation for all inter-company transactions between Group entities, in compliance with Malaysian transfer pricing guidelines issued by the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN).
  • Prepare Management Accounts including schedules for Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and all costing-related accounts for SMH Rail Sdn. Bhd. and its Group of Companies for the financial year.
  • Attend to all year-end audit queries and provide the necessary support to external and internal auditors.
  • Assist the Head of Department in the preparation of Board papers, strategic financial presentations and investment analysis as required by Senior Management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM13,000.00 per month
